Tied or job-related accommodation discount

You could get a discount on your Council Tax if you have to live in a property because it's tied to your job.

How to qualify

You could get a 50% discount on your Council Tax if you have moved and all of these conditions have been met:

  1. Living in the property is a condition of your employment contract.
  2. The property is provided by your employer.
  3. You still have another home that is your sole or main residence.

The discount may be applied to either property, depending on your circumstances.

To show you qualify, we'll ask you for:

  • your Council Tax account number
  • your name and contact details
  • details about the property you live in
  • details about the property you are claiming a reduction for
  • relevant dates of occupation
  • evidence to support your claim
