After you submit a comment

What happens after you submit a comment or object to a planning application.

All of the valid comments we receive within time are published online, alongside the other documents related to an application.

Please allow 5 working days for your comments to appear online. We will consider them when we make a decision on a planning application.

A planning officer usually makes decisions but in some cases it may be up to a council committee. If we receive 6 or more letters of objection then the application will be considered by the Planning Applications Committee.

Find out the outcome of an application

We do not send out acknowledgement letters or letters confirming the decision. To find out the outcome of an application, you can check the planning register after the decision has been made on the application.
