To leave a comment against a planning application, find the application in the planning register and go to the comments section.

Email: planningrepresentations@dumgal.gov.uk

We cannot accept comments sent in in hard copy (paper format), unless they include a valid email address.

What to include in your comment

You must include:

  • your full name and address
  • the date
  • your email address
  • an application reference number and property address
  • the grounds on which you're commenting

Comments cannot be treated as confidential because they are published on our website. However, personal details such as telephone numbers, email addresses and signatures will be removed.

When to add your comment

You must add your comment in writing either within 21 days of the date of the neighbour notification or before the end of the newspaper advert period (where applicable). If comments are late or are only made on non-planning grounds, they will not be accepted.

Petitions

You can also submit a petition. A petition is regarded as a single representation, regardless of how many names it contains.

Only the lead petitioner will receive any correspondence in relation to the application.
