Apply for approval (discharge) of planning conditions

When planning permission is granted, it sometimes has certain planning conditions attached to it. These conditions limit and control the way in which the planning permission must be implemented.

You can apply to have these conditions discharged (approved) so that your development can begin.

Information you need to provide

You should:

• detail how you intend to meet the conditions, for example the materials you will use
• provide supporting information to show how you meet the conditions

We may consult with other internal departments or external people before we discharge your planning conditions. Please attach details of any discussions or agreements you have already had.

Discharge of conditions fee

The fee is £100 for each request.

A single application can cover any number of conditions from the permission. However, the information for each condition must be submitted with the original application.

Tell us your work is starting or has finished

Before you or your builder start the agreed work, you need to let us know. You also need to tell us when the work has finished.

Tell us that you have completed your development
