Cycling

Dumfries and Galloway is internationally recognised for cycling, with a UCI bike region label – South of Scotland Enterprise. UCI is the governing body of world cycling and the label recognises our commitment to both elite cycling competition and cycling for all. 

Dumfries and Galloway is a great place to cycle. We:

  • host elite international competitions
  • have family friendly routes into town
  • have over 450 miles of signposted cycle routes 
  • have many off-road cycle trails
  • have world-class mountain bike trail centres

The famous 7stanes mountain biking trail centres span the south of Scotland. They include routes at:

  • Mabie Forest
