Apply for a new street name
As a developer, you should apply for a street name as soon as you have construction consent.
How new street names are decided
You can suggest specific street names in your application, and your reasons for the choices. The final decision, however lies with the appropriate area committee.
The main consideration when agreeing a new street names is that street names are not the same as other streets in the same area. We will carry out consultation with relevant councillors and the local Community Council (if there is one) before taking the decision to committee.
Fees
The fee for a new street naming application is £210. This covers administration costs including updating the information to Royal Mail and Scottish Assessors. You will be asked to pay the fee after you complete your form.
