The Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) is free of charge to 11 to 26 year olds living in Scotland.

You can use it to:

  • prove your age
  • get free bus travel
  • get discounted train and ferry travel (16 to 18 year olds and volunteers only)
  • get exclusive discounts in shops and venues

How to replace your NEC

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged you can apply for a replacement card online at getyournec.scot.

How to update your photograph

To update the photograph on your card, go to getyournec.scot.

If you are unable to update the photo online, you can make an appointment at customer service centre.

Staff at the centre can take a new picture and order an updated card. Please book an appointment in branch or call us.
