Core paths

Every local authority in Scotland has to draw up a plan for a system of core paths. This is to give people reasonable access throughout the area.

The condition of core paths can vary. We do not have a duty to maintain or signpost core paths. However most routes will be signposted at the start. 

Find a core path

Use the map below to find routes:

• zoom in on the map to find a core path
• select a highlighted route for information
• select a coloured dot to view a PDF of the route

Report an issue with a core path

You can also report an issue with a core path. Select the highlighted route and choose 'Report an issue on the path' from the menu above the map.
