Scottish Milk and Healthy Snack Scheme

What is provided under the Scottish Milk and Healthy Snack Scheme, eligibility, funding and application details for childcare settings.

The Scottish Milk and Health Snack Scheme (SMHSS) supports improvements in children's health in the earliest years. This is crucial in tackling health inequalities.

Any child aged 5 years and under who attends a registered setting for 2 hours or more a day is entitled to receive milk and a healthy snack, such as a piece of fruit for free.

For more on the details of what must be provided, go to Scottish Milk and Healthy Snack Scheme: statutory guidance – Scottish Government.
