Our Budget Consultation 2025/26 is now live
Have your say at dumgal.gov.uk/budget.
Check what rubbish goes in your non-recyclable waste bin or sacks, check your collection days, order a new bin or report a problem with your collection.
You can:
Order a replacement bin or sack
Most houses should have a grey, black or green non-recyclable waste bin, holding 240 litres. If you have a standard size bin you can swap it for a smaller 140 litre bin. If you want a small bin we'll change your recycling bins to the same size.
If you have a small bin, you can swap it for a larger 240 litre bin. If you want a large bin we'll change your recycling bins to the same size.
If you have nowhere to store bins or if you live in a flat, you might have larger communal, shared bins.
Contact the waste collections team to find out if you can get a communal bin:
If you do not have a bin or a communal bin, we give you a year's supply of sacks for non-recyclable waste. This gives you 2 sacks per week. If you use more than this you may not have enough to last the year. You will not be able to get more until the next April.
We write to you every April and let you know:
If you have recently moved and do not have your letter, email DomesticWaste@dumgal.gov.uk with your name, address and postcode.
If you have an issue with vermin (like seagulls and foxes) opening your sacks, we can provide reusable vermin-proof sacks to put your non-recyclable waste sacks inside. To request these, email DomesticWaste@dumgal.gov.uk with your name, address and postcode.
